1.5 litres of pancake batter are now sat in our fridge waiting for breakfast tomorrow. If you’re headed our way tomorrow morning, lucky you!
@neilvillain77 Presumably it’s the Europa for them instead of Newcastle?
@Gill_kcd Nice lampshade. (!)
@mrsteveheyes Yes it is – I’m a huge fan of @duedil.
@dnewns No-one that I’m aware of, but there’s a cynical few that would like to see it dip below it’s opening day valuation.
If $FB hits 37.99, there will be a cheer in this office.
@Prongle28 Oh, you meant *lead* aircraft. Why didn’t you just say?
@Prongle28 I’m not the one making planes out of heavy metals, Sir.
@Prongle28 They’re making aircraft out of lead? Making them out of a lighter metal would save on fuel, surely?
Mario Galaxy soundtrack done. Now moving onto “Sword & Sworcery LP – The Ballad of the Space Babies” by Jim Guthrie. Ace.
That song about the turtle with the bubble in his throat, ends “Bubble… Bubble… Pop”? The Facebook IPO causes that song to play in my head.
@spacescape As for the ‘rich corinthian leather’ of Apple’s apps, I’d much prefer a “turn stupid theming rubbish off” power-user option.
@spacescape I think there are calls for both styles – I love the idea of Metro, in principle and in use though, it just lacks something.
@spacescape Catching a wave is in the eye of the lover/hater of skeuomorphism, I guess. Apple’s gone too far in one direction, MS the other.
@spacescape I’ve heard some very interesting arguments both for and against skeuomorphism.
@simonbanyard Where necessary, yes. ;o)
Unashamedly listening to the Super Mario Galaxy Soundtrack whilst writing code. This will be mostly happy code.
@hugoinfinity Squared.
@cole007 It’s almost as if the long-term plan is to reap resources that haven’t been used in a while, a-la Safari on iOS.
@phuunet In challenging my senior devs to pick a new language, I’ve chosen Ruby to ‘learn’ (read: fuck about with).
@phuunet Is that some sort of ‘easier’ javascript notation? (Whereby ‘easier’ I don’t actually mean ‘easier’.)
Whenever I see blog posts that say “Here’s what the new iPhone might look like” I replace the word “might” with “absolutely will not”.
@sil When the things you work so crushingly hard on aren’t nearly as good as the things you throw together is when it’s a bad thing. :o)
“Bye bye Daddy” with no tears at the nursery drop-off this morning. Slightly disappointed to be less interesting than playing with trains.
